Our CM Budget is too small
Your Question:
“We have a CM budget, but it is very small. How can the budget be increased?”
The Issues:
The challenge is that your current CM is “built” on the current CM team. Even though you may want to give them all some much-needed time off, you can’t do that without severely effecting the “smooth running” of the CM. Remember that you’re serving people, not “machines”! People have feelings, and need much encouragement and support! The CM will be blessed by God according to His timing. Maybe His timing for a larger budget is different from yours.
Scripture Foundation:
“Blessed is the one…whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” Psalm 1: 1-3; “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones.” Luke 16: 10
Short Answer:
It is important to remember that every CM leader would like to have a larger budget. Most CM leaders believe that their CM budget is too small. Your desire for a larger budget isn’t unusual. BUT enlarging your CM budget is not up to you. It is not even up to the church leaders who supervise you. The enlarging of your CM budget is up to God. He decides when and how to increase your budget. This fact doesn’t mean that God doesn’t want you to seek a larger CM budget. It does mean that you need to be a good steward of what He has given you. God asks you to be content, faithful, and grateful. In addition to this expectation from God, He does call you to be a shepherd. A shepherd moves the sheep around to take advantage of better pastures. There is nothing wrong with wanting more for the children’s ministry as long as you submit to God’s timing. Communicating with the church leadership is critical. Regularly and consistently tell them what God is doing in the CM. Be clear about the vision that God has given you. Don’t beg, but also don’t be too quiet. For more help, click on the links below.
